About This Service
Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) is a specialized technique for removing dents without the need to sand, fill, or repaint the affected area. When your vehicle has a dent that hasn't damaged the paint — such as a door ding, hail dent, or minor parking lot incident — PDR is typically faster and less expensive than traditional body repair, while preserving your vehicle's original factory paint finish.
What We Do
PDR is ideal for: small to medium dents where the paint is intact, door dings from parking lots, hail damage (multiple small dents), shallow creases on body panels, and dents on accessible panel areas. PDR is not suitable for: dents with paint damage or cracks, dents on extreme edges of panels, or very deep/sharp dents. Our technicians will assess your vehicle during a free estimate and let you know honestly whether PDR is the right approach or if traditional repair will produce a better result.
WHY TOM WOOD COLLISION
We offer PDR as part of our full-service collision repair capability meaning if your dent turns out to need traditional repair instead, we can handle that in-house without sending you elsewhere. Our PDR work is backed by our Lifetime Limited Warranty. As a family-owned Indianapolis shop, we give straight answers: if PDR will work, we'll save you money. If it won't, we'll tell you before the work starts.
Our Process
Step 1: Free PDR assessment - we look at the dent and determine if it qualifies.
Step 2: If PDR is right for the dent, we provide a firm price and timeline (often same-day for minor dents).
Step 3: Our technician removes the dent using specialized tools to massage the metal back to its original shape from behind the panel.
Step 4: Final inspection - your factory paint is untouched, the dent is gone.
